Jason P. Osteen
PartnerJason Osteen has been with Dempsey Kingsland Osteen for more than 20 years. He maintains a tort litigation practice with an emphasis in the areas of trucking and motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, premises liability, and vaccine injuries.
Jason was born and raised in the Kansas City area. He received his bachelor’s degree with distinction from the University of Kansas, where he was a recipient of the USC Upper Class Scholarship, a merit-based academic scholarship awarded to students after freshman year. Jason was also invited to join Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he, as a student, taught a course in appellate advocacy.
Jason has successfully tried cases in state and federal court and he has argued before the Supreme Court of Missouri. He has also tried numerous workers’ compensation cases and has achieved multiple permanent total disability awards and settlements that resulted in lifetime financial benefits to his clients.
Jason is admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas state courts, the United States District Courts for Kansas and the Western District of Missouri, and also the United States Court of Claims. He is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and has written amicus briefs on behalf of that organization. He is also a published author in that organization’s journal. Additionally, Mr. Osteen is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
